Our Purpose:

The purpose of the Cultural Awareness and Diversity Expansion Team (C.A.D.E.T.) is to enhance the Corps Global Leadership Initiatives Program by focusing on cultural/international issues and global awareness in order to develop our members to fufill the growing demand for global leadership while engaging in community service in the Bryan/College Station area.

C.A.D.E.T. History:

This organization, originally founded in the early 1990's as B.I.C, was a support system put in place for African American Cadets within the Corps. That vision has since then changed, and C.A.D.E.T. was formed so that everyone within the Corps of Cadets would be given the opportunity to learn more about diversity. The goal for us is to unify this great Corps so that we all can be better well rounded leaders equipped with the necessary methods of dealing with a diverse array of people.

The Cultural Awareness and Diversity Expansion Team (C.A.D.E.T.) was founded on September 12, 2010 by junior cadets Gabriel Clark and Marisela Spangler. The dream became a reality when C.A.D.E.T. became recognized as an official organization on April 29, 2011 at Texas A&M University. Our organization provides it's members with quality diversity awareness and education programs, several social outtings throughout the semester, while giving back to the community of the Bryan/College Station area. C.A.D.E.T. has also received positive publicity by being aired on the local news channel ABC 40, and being mentioned in a recent article published by The L.A. Times.
